Technology in the Classroom
According to the article
Using Technology to Support Diverse Learners Technology can be used as an excellent tool to support students’ diverse learning. However, they state that “potential of both existing and new technologies in supporting student learning isn’t in the technologies themselves but the ways they are used as tools for learning” (n.d. P 1). The use of technology it is been incrementing in schools since the last decade. It is true that almost every school has several types of technology. Yet, is it been used the way it supposed to be used? According to the article “Critical Issue: Using Technology to Enhance Literacy Instruction” even thought that there are many different points of view among educators on how technology it is been used in the classrooms, they agree that they can take advantage of the several uses of technology to support students’ learning.

From computers to interactive boards, there is always something to address everybody’s needs. Today teachers use a lot of more technology than in the past. The primary objective is to facilitate instruction in the classrooms and address diverse learning styles. In the article “WHY KIDS LOVE COMPUTER NETS" Using technology to escape the bounds of the classroom, children are learning to work in ways you never dreamed of when you were their age”. Students actually have fun searching on the Web. They love to be in places without boundaries. Technology can also be used to analyze and interpret data. There are tons of Websites and other electronic formats from where they choose from. Additionally, students can enhance their learning by visiting many places over the internet. 1. I totally agree that technology has slowly become apart of everyday classrooms. I also agree that teachers are using more technology today that they did a few years ago. However, there are still some teachers who run from technology. I believe we need to stress to those teachers who do not want to use the technology available to them the advantages of using the technology, like the ones you have stated. Good information!

  2. I found your blog to be very informative. I am a seventh grade math teacher in the alief school district. My school has recently been awarded a technology grant. The school decided to use the grant on Texas Instaments Math Foward program. Math Foward uses the TI 84 calculator to help student with their algebra readiness. The calculators are linked to my PC through a wireless modem. I am able to create activities through my computer and transmit them directley to the students calculator. We are just in the begining stages of the program but I can already see a higher rate of student engagement and participation.
